How do I change my website's PHP version?

In cPanel you can easily control which PHP version your website uses. This is especially relevant if you have updated your CMS (e.g. WordPress) and want better performance, or if you are running an older system that requires a specific version.

Note: We always recommend using one of the latest PHP versions (e.g. PHP 8.3 or later) for the best security and speed.

Log in to your cPanel.
Search for or find the MultiPHP Manager icon under the Software section.
Find the list of your domains at the bottom of the page.
Select the checkbox next to the domain you want to change the version for.
In the upper right corner you will find a drop-down menu under the text PHP Version. Here, select the desired version. "Inherit" means that the website uses the server's default and automatically follows it when it changes.
Click the blue Apply button.

Action	Result
Select new version + Apply	The change will take effect immediately.
Inherit (Inherit)	The domain is using the server's default version.

Are you experiencing errors?
If your website is showing errors after the switch, you can simply go back to the MultiPHP Manager and select the previous version again. This usually fixes the problem immediately while you check if your plugins or theme need to be updated.
